Killer Pool is a scorekeeper for the bar pool elimination game "Killer." You add players, tap POT or MISS as the game is played, and the app tracks lives, turn order and eliminations. To let other people follow a game, find games nearby and sign up for planned games, some game information is stored on our online database (Google Firebase). This page lists exactly what, why, and who can see it.
Your settings, the current game and your finished-game history are saved in the app's storage on your device so a game survives closing the app. This stays on your phone.
When you start a game, the app saves an online copy so spectators can follow it, so it can be shown on a TV, and so you can reopen it from My games. The online copy contains:
Who can see it: anyone who has the game's link or QR code, and for public games anyone browsing nearby games. A separate copy with the full game state (used to resume it) can only be read from your phone's anonymous ID.
If you plan a game, it is saved online with the venue name and logo, date and time, entry fee, player limit, house rules, and any contact details you choose to add (phone number, Facebook link). Planned games are public in Browse Games.
If you sign up for a planned game, the name and optional photo you enter are saved with that game and can be seen by the organizer and by people viewing the game.
The app only asks for your location if you turn on nearby-game alerts or create a public or planned game. It is turned into a rough area (about 1 km across) before it is saved; your exact position is never stored. If you say no, everything else still works.
If you allow notifications, your phone's push token is saved with your anonymous ID and rough area so we can tell you about games starting nearby. Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging by our small notification service hosted on Cloudflare.
Players get a colored initial by default. If you add a photo for a player, a venue logo or a promo banner, it is resized to a small image. Player photos and logos used in games and sign-ups are saved online as described above so spectators can see them.
Chromecast uses your Wi-Fi network directly. iOS asks for "Local Network" permission so the app can find the Chromecast. The TV shows the same game information that spectators see.
Report an issue opens your email app with your message, the app version, your device model and the current game's code. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
They process data only to run these features. The app doesn't use advertising networks, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and we don't sell your data.
Tap ✕ on a game in My games to delete its online copy. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. To delete everything linked to your phone online (games, sign-ups, push token and rough area), email us at the address below and we'll remove it.
Killer Pool is made for adults playing pool in bars and pool halls. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
If what the app collects changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will move.
